To premium or NOT to premium

Given that it would take 140 days to be self sufficient in ARA-bux and 106 days for Neo-bux, should a PTC clicker upgrade to premium membership?

Like in any other income streams, an investment is necessary to be successful in PTC.




A premium membership means faster self sufficiency.

Now, the million dollar question now is, should I invest? Well, I have always been stubborn. Right now, I'd rather spend the cash required for premium membership upgrade to stocks and other investment options. However, I will definitely upgrade soon, but I am following the longer and more difficult path.

Neo-bux: a strategy to earn for regular members

After creating a strategy that can work for ARA-bux, I was amazed how long - 140 days! - it will take for a PTC to be self sufficient. It's difficult to earn cash through PTC, in the beginning. Hence, I decided to try my hand at NeoBux which has one of the highest PTC at $0.10 per ad and $0.015 for extended ads. It publishes 5 ads a day.

The payment scheme for Neo-bux is:
PIONEER and STANDARD members $0.01 standard view AND $0.015 extended view
$0.005 standard view AND $0.010 extended view for each Ad clicked by a referral GOLDEN members
$0.01 standard view AND $0.02 extended view
$0.01 standard view AND $0.02 extended view for each Ad clicked by a referral

The table below shows how much each referral costs.
However, before a STANDARD member can become a GOLDEN member which costs $90 a year, he or she needs to have done the following:

• have 50 clicks credited
• have rented at least twice
• registered at least 15 days before upgrade

So, given the above and that a member chooses to rent referrals using AutoPay - it costs less, the member gets an effective 10% discount, then I present the following strategy.

Conclusion:

• you can only rent a max 400 referrals unless you AutoPay your old ones
  
• to get more commission from referrals, you have to make your own rather than just refer
• it takes 106 days to be self sufficient - much better than ARA-bux's 140 days!

Ara-bux: A strategy to earn for standard members

ARA-Bux was established in August 2008 and as to-date (04 Feb 2009) has paid $105,790.10 to its members of over 73,000. It publishes 6 Ads a day.

The payment scheme for ARA-BUx is:
STANDARD members
$0.01 for each Ad clicked
$0.0075 additional for each Ad clicked by a referral
PREMIUM members
$0.0125 for each Ad clicked
$0.01 additional for each Ad clicked by a referral

For both members, a sign up bonus of $0.50 is awarded.

A member can request payment whenever account balance reaches $10 and payment is through AlertPay.

To be a PREMIUM member, one has to pay $59 for a year's premium membership or $9 for a month's premium membership.

Now, for referral rental cost:
STANDARD members
5 referrals - $3.25 a month
35 referrals - $22.75 a month
100 referrals - $65.00 a month
500 referrals - $325.00 a month
PREMIUM members
5 referral - $2.50 a month
35 referral - $17.50 a month
100 referral - $50.00 a month
500 referrals - $250.00 a month

So, given the above, what is the optimal strategy to use so a PTC clicker EARN money from ARA-Bux?



Now, I will identify a strategy that can be used in ARA-Bux until you reach 500 referrals. This strategy is for a member who first registered as a standard member.

Strategy 1
(I assume that a standard member is one who has no initial cash to purchase a PREMIUM membership AND that no withdrawals are made until YOU are renting 500 referrals)
The goal of this strategy is to have enough cash in the shortest possible time to UPGRADE to the more LUCRATIVE premium membership.

Upon sign-up, you'll have $0.50 bonus AND what you need is $9 to upgrade to PREMIUM for a month. Here goes

==>this strategy is BETTER than earning $9 to be a PREMIUM member first. That strategy takes about 184 days OR half a year just to EARN $9, while Strategy 1 takes about 140 days OR only 4 months and 20 days to be premium and renting 500 referrals! Trust me, I computed. Anyway, I will start implementing this strategy today ALTHOUGH I can't afford the time to do PTC, but I need to see if this works. Pray that I have the patience to wait for 140 days.

Realization: It takes a long time to earn in PTC without initial cash outlay, but then if you want to have extra stream of income in the future, PTC is okay.
